I am writing to investigate
my own life experiences.
I have made my living writing for businesses, entrepreneurs and non-profits – about their products, services, missions, people, purpose. Now I am writing – and making pictures – to investigate my own life experiences. I am drawn to what’s challenging, disruptive, surprising, buried. It is especially meaningful to find words and images for what’s hard to talk about. And, through this work, to discover both more space and more connection.
With color and form,
I am learning new languages.
I started playing with art about five years ago as a new way to explore my experiences. Most of my pictures are multimedia collages combining words and images. Some of the pieces contain excerpts from my own writing and some contain words from other writers whose work I treasure. Where writing goes deep, in search of gold, making pictures feels like moving up into a great open space.
